LUBBOCK, Texas - Bre'Amber Scott scored 31 points, her second straight game with 30-plus, and Texas Tech beat No. 25 Texas 68-64 for its third straight victory.
Texas Tech beat Texas for the third straight season, doing so for the first time since 2006-09. Tech also recorded a win over a top-25 team for the third consecutive season.
Scott, the reigning Big 12 player of the week after a 37-point performance on Saturday, was 8 of 18 from the field and 10 of 14 at the free-throw line. The Red Raiders needed Scott's free-throw shooting down the stretch as they made just one field goal in the final four minutes.
Texas got within 63-62 when DeYona Gaston grabbed an offensive rebound and put it back with 1:21 left. Jasmine Shavers made two free throws at the other end to extend Texas Tech's lead to four points, and Scott made 3 of 4 free throws the rest of the way to seal it.
Kilah Freelon had a career-high 12 points and seven rebounds and Shavers finished with 10 points for Texas Tech (15-4, 3-3 Big 12).
Sonya Morris scored 17 points for Texas (13-6, 4-2). Rori Harmon had 12 points, nine assists and four steals and Shaylee Gonzales scored 10.
