Tyreek Smith commits to Texas Tech

4 star forward Tyreek Smith has committed to Texas Tech.

The 6-8 Smith, from Trinity Christian High School in Cedar Hill TX, originally committed to Texas A&M, Smith re-opened his recruitment when the Aggies fired head coach Billy Kennedy in March. Smith held offers from Florida, Georgia Tech, Houston, Kansas State, LSU, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Virginia Tech, and others.

Smith is rated the No. 140 player in the nation for the class of 2019, the No. 25 power forward, and the No. 15 player in Texas.

Smith averaged 17.5 points, 12.3 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game last season.
