Syracuse women's basketball coach Quentin Hillsman gets contract extension

Syracuse women's basketball coach Quentin Hillsman has agreed to a contract extension through 2024.

Hillsman has a 263-136 record in 12 years. He has led the Orange to the NCAA Tournament seven times, including a run to the championship game in 2016.

The Orange have won at least 20 games in 10 of his seasons. Before his arrival, the team had only two 20-win seasons.

Hillsman has coached 13 all-conference selections, four All-Americans and four WNBA draft picks. The Orange have won at least 20 games in 10 of his 12 seasons at Syracuse. Prior to his arrival there had only been two 20-win seasons in program history. His teams are nearly unbeatable inside the Carrier Dome, amassing an 87-4 record against non-conference opponents during his reign and a 143-41 record overall in the Dome during his tenure. He holds a 263-136 record as Syracuse's head coach and helped the Orange to their sixth-consecutive NCAA Tournament this past season.

Hillsman signed a top-10 recruiting class for 2018 which includes McDonald's All-American and New York State Gatorade Player of the Year Emily Engstler. Syracuse returns all five starters that, as a unit, started in all 31 games and made up 81.4 percent of the team's scoring in 2017-18. Syracuse also returns 95.6 percent of its offense from last year.
