The 6-1, 225 pound Patterson, from Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville, chose Ohio State over Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Louisville, Oklahoma, Penn State, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, and others.

Patterson is the No. 6 prospect out of Tennessee, the No. 14 linebacker in the country and No. 194 overall prospect.

Last season, he recorded 64 tackles, including 10.5 for loss, two sacks, an interception, and a blocked field goal.

He is coming off an ACL injury in his left knee suffered in the Division II-AA quarterfinals. He was cleared to play last month.
