Mason Gillis commits to Purdue

4 star forward Mason Gillis has committed to Purdue.

The 6-7, 220 pound Gillis, from New Castle IN, chose Purdue over Butler, Indiana, Ohio State, Xavier, and others.

Gillis is ranked No. 122 in the 2019 class, the No. 24 forward nationally, and the No. 7 prospect out of Indiana.

Gillis averaged 21.6 points, 12.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 blocks for New Castle's Class 3A regional championship team as a junior.

He recenntly underwent surgery to repair a partially torn meniscus. He was selected to the Indiana Junior All-Star team, but his participation was limited due to the injury.

Gillis is a two-sport standout for New Castle, though he took the spring off of baseball to focus on basketball.
