South Dakota 35, Bowling Green 27

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Jake Suder tied a Perry Stadium record with four field goals as the Bowling Green State University football team dropped its 2017 home opener to the University of South Dakota. The Coyotes scored 21 first-quarter points, and BGSU could get no closer than eight points before dropping a 35-27 decision. The loss drops BGSU to 0-2 on the season.

Redshirt sophomore quarterback James Morgan threw for 315 yards and his first two touchdown passes of the season. Scott Miller and Teo Redding caught those, as the FAlcons were 5-for-5 in red zone opportunities. Datrin Guyton caught 158 yards worth of passes for a 31.6 average, while the Falcons rushed a total of 161 yards and a 4.6 per carry average.
