Miami-Ohio at Boise State

(Saturday, September 12th)

Final Score: (12) Boise State 48, Miami-Ohio 0

Boise, ID (Sports Network) - Kellen Moore threw four touchdown passes, as 12th-ranked Boise State rolled over Miami-Ohio, 48-0.

Moore was 16-of-26 through the air and finished with 307 yards and an interception for the Broncos (2-0). Austin Pettis caught four passes for 115 yards and a touchdown, while Titus Young had 114 yards and two scores on six catches.

D.J. Harper amassed 89 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.

The conclusion to the contest was a far cry from what transpired in the Broncos' season-opener against Oregon. In an intolerable act of poor sportsmanship following the game, Ducks running back LeGarrette Blount, upset over an apparent taunt from Byron Hout, delivered a right cross to the unsuspecting Boise State defensive end. Blount was subsequently suspended for the remainder of the season, while Broncos head coach Chris Petersen said Hout would also face "disciplinary consequences."

Daniel Raudabaugh completed 21-of-35 passes for 155 yards and two interceptions for the RedHawks (0-2), who were limited to just 38 yards on the ground. Chris Givens registered 61 yards on seven receptions.

A 17-yard passing play between Moore and Pettis put Boise State on the board with 7:16 remaining in the opening quarter. Later in the frame, Raudabaugh was picked off by George IIoka, who returned the ball to the Miami-Ohio 10. Two plays later, The Broncos moved ahead 14-0 when Tyler Shoemaker grabbed a 15- yard scoring reception.

In the waning moments of the second quarter, Moore hit Young on a crossing pattern and he rumbled 25 yards to the end zone. Kyle Brotzman missed the extra point.

Harper pounded the ball in for a three-yard score with 7:09 remaining in the third quarter. Young and Moore hooked up again later in the frame, this time for a 54-yard TD.

Doug Martin had two rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter for Boise State.

"Well, I think the result is what we liked, even though the process we went through wasn't exactly the way we wanted to get there," Petersen said. "There are some things that we need to focus in on, we're still a work in progress."

Game Notes

This game marked the first-ever between the two programs on the football field...The Broncos extended their regular season home winning streak to 51 games...Boise State improved to 5-2 all-time against teams from the Mid- American Conference.
