A day after dropping 18th-ranked Vanderbilt, the Commodores returned the favor in Bowling Green defeating WKU 17-6, while three other SBC teams picked up midweek wins, including UNO which halted a five game skid as the Privateers defeated Southern of Baton Rouge 13-7.

Bryce Brentz set the Middle Tennessee career home run record with his solo shot to right field with one out in the eighth to give the Blue Raiders a 5-4 lead, but ULM rallied for the 8-5 win on Saturday. Brentz's home run broke the all-time home run record at Middle Tennessee and he now has 52 in his career.

The Sun Belt Conference has announced its Sun Belt Network baseball and softball television schedules which will include eight baseball and two softball broadcasts during the 2010 seasons.

Nine games were slated for action on Friday night, the second weekend in the young 2010 baseball, but only seven were able to complete as the weather continues to play havoc on teams early in the season. SBC teams went 5-2 on Friday highlighted by WKU's 5-1 victory over 29th-ranked Texas A&M.

After an opening weekend that saw Sun Belt Conference baseball teams go a combined 21-10 (.677), several SBC teams will be in action this weekend hoping to continue their success. Three of those teams - UALR, FIU, and Louisiana-Lafayette - will try and remain unbeaten so far in the young 2010 season, while Louisiana-Monroe, New Orleans, and South Alabama look to get back into the winning ways.
