08/13/2008 Eastern Michigan has named Jay Alexander its new head baseball coach. Alexander had spent the past six years as the head coach at Wayne State University and takes over the Eastern Michigan post from Jake Boss Jr., who left last month to take the vacancy at Michigan State. During his tenure at Wayne State, Alexander's teams averaged 27 wins per season and he was selected as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's coach of the year twice.
