2010 College World Series Tickets Go On Sale April 3rd

03/16/2010 The advance sale of reserved seat tickets for individual games of the 2010 NCAA® Division I Men’s College World Series® will begin on Saturday, April 3, at 10 a.m. Central Time, according to Herb E. Hames, ticket chairman of College World Series of Omaha, Inc. (CWS, Inc.). Approximately 1,000 tickets will be available for Games 1 through 12 at the Rosenblatt Stadium box office and selected Ticketmaster® retail locations in the Midwest, as well as by phone at 800/745-3000 and online at ticketmaster.com.

“We expect reserved tickets to be in high demand, because this is the last year the Series will be held at Rosenblatt Stadium,” Hames acknowledged. “In addition to the nostalgia of this final Series at Rosenblatt, youth baseball tournaments around the area continue to attract more participants who want tickets for the Series. So ticket sales should be especially strong in 2010.”

People who want to buy tickets at Rosenblatt Stadium and Ticketmaster retail locations are encouraged to arrive around 9:15 a.m. Central time on April 3 to participate in a random selection process to determine purchase order. The random selection process will take place at approximately 9:30 a.m. to determine the first person in line to buy tickets when sales officially open at 10 a.m. Buying order will follow sequentially from the initial number drawn. Individual reserved seating will cost $22 per game, while individual box seat tickets will cost $27 per game. Tickets for the to-be-determined (if-necessary) games on Saturday, June 26, and all Finals games will not be included in the advance sale.

Starting on April 3, reserved seat tickets may be purchased online through CWS Ticket Exchange (www.ncaa.com/cws), which is authorized by the NCAA and supported by Ticketmaster. “TicketExchange provides fans with a fair and safe access to CWS tickets that are not being used on a particular day by season ticket holders,” Hames explained. “The NCAA wants to give fans the confidence of knowing that tickets they purchase are legitimate, rather than take a risk with unauthorized resellers.”

College World Series general admission (GA) tickets costing $70 per book of 10 tickets will also go on sale April 3 through NCAA.com/CWS, area service clubs, at all Hy-Vee supermarket customer service counters, Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Qwest Center Omaha, Rosenblatt Stadium and other locations throughout the metro area.
GA tickets are non-guaranteed seats in the right outfield and left outfield bleachers, which are bench-style seats with seat backs. GA tickets are not designated for a specific session or date and these seats are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. “As long as the ticket holder arrives early enough to be seated, the tickets are good for all games, including Finals games,” said Hames. “If the GA section is filled to capacity, the gates will close. If the gates don’t reopen after a few innings, ticket holders have the opportunity to watch the game on the large-screen TV in the plaza area.”

During the Series
Once the Series is underway, another option for purchasing reserved seats is through the Rosenblatt Stadium box office, where a limited number of reserved seats are available for sale at face value on a daily basis. The box office opens at 10 a.m. Central time on the days that the first game is at 1 p.m.; otherwise it will open at noon Central time when the first game is played at 3:30 p.m., or later. Historically, hundreds of additional tickets have been available “day of the game” because of tickets turned back to the Rosenblatt Stadium box office from the team ticket allocation.

CWS Finals Ticket Sales
Tickets for the June 28 and June 29 CWS Finals games are not offered until following the game during which the teams playing in the Finals are determined. Tickets will go on sale through Ticketmaster.com beginning 30 minutes after the last deciding game. The Rosenblatt Stadium box office will open at noon Central time on Monday, June 28, to sell both the June 28 and June 29 Finals games. The box office will be closed on Sunday, June 27. Individual reserved seating for Finals games will cost $29 per game, while individual box seat tickets for Finals games will cost $35 per game. If a Finals game No. 3 is needed Wednesday, June 30, these tickets will be available through ticketmaster.com and at the Rosenblatt Stadium box office.
